The Grand (coming soon)
Kansas City is growing and changing, and we’re honored to be a part of it. One of the newest additions coming soon that we’re most excited about is called The Grand. Formerly the headquarters of the Kansas City Star at 18th and Grand holds a piece of history. Vince Bryant, the President of 3D Development and lead developer on this project called it “an opportunity of a lifetime,” and we couldn’t agree more.
The heart of this space is to restore it to its original design while making it an area that the entire city can enjoy. Vince Bryant doesn’t take this task lightly, and while being a good steward of the space, he wants to invite the city to engage with it.
Where We’ve Been
The original historic buildings were designed in 1911 by Jarvis Hunt, the creator of Kansas City’s Union Station and KC Commerce Bank Tower. There have been modifications to the building since then to increase efficiency, but the original structures are still there and have been the backbone for the design. The original atrium skylight will be brought back to life, and with a plethora of tall windows and additional skylights, The Grand will not lack natural light.
Where We’re Going
The Grand offers something for everyone in Kansas City. It houses many offices available for leasing on the second and third floor as well as private rooftop office suites with a view that will take your breath away.
A market and boutique grocery were designed with a copper roof inspired by a printing press that will elevate your shopping experience.
You’re invited to enjoy indoor and outdoor seating for gatherings, small meetings or dates, surrounded by large glass doors throughout that open and close to accommodate any season in Kansas City.
Enjoy a drink at the central bar with a semi-private staircase that leads to the offices above!
Last but not least, the new entertainment and sports bar concept called, Bar+Rec will feature outdoor sand volleyball courts that will be managed by KC CREW along with other yard games.
Grand Place honors where we’ve been and where we are going by leading in innovation and design and inviting everyone to share a part in it.
